Unavoidable but so inspiring, Dali!

we spend almost al afternoon in the museum. Even the kids were astonished and sometimes they even seemed inspired. Whatever, I had a great day again!

Black Earth, La Jonquera after the bush fire

Puck and I decided to go biking and have a look at the remains of the woods near La Jonquera and  Capmany, that were on fire a week ago. It was devistating.. Curious to see how the black remains of the wood suddenly stop and change into green woods. But most parts are black, pure blackIt still smells heavily to coal and fire. The fire has gone fast and horizontal. Most tops of the pines are still green. But on the ground there is nothing left.


At the end of our trip, one can see how nature reveils.. within a week the green sprouts flush out of the black earth.

a day of nothing

After a day doing really little..: in the morning a bad bike-tour with short shadows... we defenitly got up too late.. we went fishing in Roses.

But on the way back, the eye that wánts to see also gets to see!

Neighbours on the road

Our all-year-neighbours Emilia, Sieger and Micky from Amsterdam changed their house in the same period as we did, and guess? 60 km from here!
So, yesterday we met each other in Llanca on the beach, the little one next to the harbour. In the end of the day we went up to Vilamaniscle to swim eat and rest. It was great fun to exchange our experiences. They stay in a beautiful old reformed house in the mountains near Olot.

We made a great Paella a real one as I learned long ago in Sevilla. We will leave the paellera here!

In the morning we left al together to their house in La Pinya.
 Also a beautiful house, and really a design-piece. And it's green and fresh there, although I don't know what to prefer... This beautiful dry wilderness or the green fresh hills.. Both great, and this way we could sense both!

In the plain of La Pinya we went again for a large bike tour and we ended up in The gorge of La Bas del Privat. Just a few kilometers too late, everybodys batterie was down so we had to go first swimming in the river. Great!

After that we went all together to Besalú, a nice medieval town with a great bridge.

Girona by daytime

It took 2 hours to get Finn out of bed.. Too tired! 

We let him sleep an hour or so more and packed our stuff to go to Girona, for a half day trip.

Easy to ride on; just drive on until you drive into a parking garage.

So many stairs!

Too bad we arrived around one a clock, so it was already more than 30 degrees. Kids don't stand that. Me neither.. 

Girona turned out to be a very pleasant city; not too big. Just a bit too much of our kind of people, mainly dutch for some reason..

tomorrow we will have friends around, so we had to pass the Carrefour also. A pity after such a day..

Getting up early makes long shadows!

This mornig i got up 'pretty' early.. 8.15.
The rest of sus still sleeping deeply
Made myself a short breakfast, read a digital newspaper. Nothing in t that really mattered (for me..)

Than, on the bike for a morning trail from Vilamaniscle up in the mountains.

Bt from here is goes besides heavy up, also fast down A resume of the morning 20,5 km; 2600m climbed and of course also descended: max snelheid 45km/uur enz. and within that also 7 km lost!

Quite a handy gadget such a Iphone!

Cactussen can besides rough and pinchy also bloom beautiful and be a source of food.

Hardly made it up the hill, but had to step of in the vilage because of the concrete in my legs.
Sweaty in the little shop buy some breakfast for the rest of the family...
